Why would you remove such a useful feature? The replacement proposal doesn't make much sense to me, I cannot do it via "theme", I have dozens of tags and they keep changing dynamically.
What happens if I "refuse" to "upgrade components" ?
there's a beta feature you can enable to show deprecated versions of components, I think it should be the first option:
