Why is there no AI Assist when building Mobile Apps ?

This is expected behavior rather than a bug. Retool's new AI-powered app builder — the Chat-based experience where an AI agent plans and executes changes from natural-language prompts — is scoped to building production-ready React web apps on cloud instances. Retool Mobile apps continue to be built in the classic drag-and-drop mobile editor, which does not include the AI app-building agent. The AI Chat 'build your app' panel described in the documentation applies to the new web app builder, so no equivalent AI Assist surfaces in the Mobile editor today.

Thanks for the question! We’re considering bringing AI to mobile, but it isn’t on the roadmap yet. If we do, it would likely work more like the new app builder, where you describe what you want in a prompt, rather than AI assisting inside the drag-and-drop editor.
