I've got some shared retools I work on with others. For months, I typically make changes within the editor come on the next day and continue my work.
However, the past two days, I've made changes in the editor, wake up the next day and all of my changes are gone. Today is particularly frustrating because I spent quite a number of hours yesterday redoing the entire retool and collecting data for use within it and now it's all gone.
I've never had this problem before and I'm not sure what could have caused it.
Maybe someone else with the editor open in their own tab reconnecting and overriding the editor state? Regardless, I don't see how this could be anything other than a bug.
Hi @Justis, welcome to the forum!
We've seen this issue before when Releases have been enabled for an App and we are working on a non-published release. Please let us know if this is not the case, we're happy to take a closer look.
The plan that the app is under does not include the "Releases Management" feature, so as far as I'm aware it would be impossible for releases to have been enabled.
Thanks for confirming your org name with me over DM. I wasn't able to find any relevant logs that could point us to what caused this issue. I'm sorry you have lost your progress multiple times, it must have been frustrating!
Here is some context on what could have caused this, how to prevent it from happening in the future, and how to recover your work if it ever happens again:
Don't make any changes when using the 'historyOffset,' as this can lead to losing previous app states.
I found another report from today. Because we haven't been able to reproduce this, it's likely that it's related to multiple editor tabs but we'll monitor the forum for other reports.
I've only had the one editor tab open. I had a different retool app open in another tab, but it was never in the editor state.
I've asked with my team and they've confirmed nobody else had opened the app or editor when this happened, so I'm doubtful that it's related to multiple tabs.
Regardless, I know how to recover if it happens again so I'm not terribly concerned. Thank you for your time looking into it.
