Unable to create Snowflake resource

Hi All,

I am unable to create a Snowflake resource in Retool. I have given all required values with Account identifier. I have used Snowflake Basic authentication - User Id and Password.

Even I have allowed Retool IP's in Snowflake by adding Network policies using below CIDR ranges.

Retool Cloud IP addresses | Retool Docs.

It raises below error when I tried to connect.

Test connection failed

Network error. Could not reach Snowflake.

The error message indicates that the application is unable to establish a connection to the Snowflake database, likely due to network issues such as firewall restrictions, incorrect connection settings, or service outages. To troubleshoot, check your network configuration, ensure that the Snowflake account URL is correct, and verify that there are no firewall rules blocking the connection. Additionally, confirm that the Snowflake service is operational by checking the Snowflake status page for any ongoing incidents.

Hi @Mahesh_Nandam,

Thanks for reaching out! Are there any logs on the Snowflake side that show an attempt to connect? This could be caused by resource limits set on Snowflake. You may also need to review firewall settings on Snowflake

Linking our snowflake specific docs in case they're helpful as well!

Hi @Tess

I have followed the provided link for creation of the Snowflake resource in Retool. I have even whitelisted the provided IP's and CIDR range in Snowflake. I don't have any specific logs as I'm trying to test my connection in creation of Resource.

Good afternoon @Mahesh_Nandam. I faced the same issue when configuring my snowflake account. Any thoughts on how you managed to fix the issue? Thanks

Hi @Lucas_Barbosa Even I am facing the same issue and waiting for Retool team's response and support.

@Tess - Could you please me in establishing Snowflake connection as resource in Retool.

Hi there,

Could you share a screenshot of your resource set up? Are you able to connect with these credentials from any other third parties?

For the logs, when you click "Test connection" in Retool, does it log anything on the Snowflake side under "Monitoring" -> "Query history"?

@Lucas_Barbosa are you still running into this issue? Looking at the logs on our side it seemed like your team was able to successfully connect :crossed_fingers:

Hi @Tess

Below is the screenshot of the setup of resource. Also, I have checked my query history and I don't see any sort Retool activity as such in query history.

Hi @Mahesh_Nandam,

For the account identifier, are you using the string to the left of snowflakecomputing.com. Just to double check, the account identifier should not include https:// or snowflakecomputing.com

Hi @Tess - I have updated my resource Account identifier with only required object ASBXX.ASXXX and it worked fine previously. Since past week whenever I tried connecting to snowflake still I am facing issue. Could you please advise - I using Retool demo account for this and still unable to connect to Snowflake.

Hi @Mahesh_Nandam,

Just to confirm, you changed the account identifier, and it started working, and then with no other changes, it stopped working again?

Do you know what day? I don't believe we made any notable Snowflake changes during this time

Hi @Tess - I was able to connect to Snowflake now. The snowflake account identifier has to be with small letters with separated with -.

Ex: abc27-asd3d
