Need help with app deployment

I’ve really enjoying my experience with Retool, having built a fully functional database in just three months, despite starting with zero coding knowledge. Now that the app is complete, I’d like my two colleagues to start using it. Currently, both are invited as "View" members. However, they can still see the black toolbar at the top of the page and are able to edit the app—something I find a bit odd for viewer permissions.

I’ve read the documentation about external users (notably: External apps and users | Retool Docs), but I still don't understand. How can I set up a login page? How can I ensure it transitions smoothly to the Home page after a successful login? How do I remove the black toolbar at the top?

I’ve invested so much time and effort into developing this app—it’s been a fun and rewarding journey. However, I’m worried the deployment might not work as planned, and that would be heartbreaking. I really hope it s an easy fix issue.

The app is hosted on Retool and is on business plan.

@Ekaterina_Kupriyanova No need to worry—you can definitely set up view-only users without giving them access to the toolbar!

This seems to be a permissions issue. While I can't provide an exact guide, I suggest creating a new group and adding those two users to it. Then, go through and remove any unnecessary permissions from the "All Users" group, especially in the "Additional" section.

At that point, your users will be in both groups: the tightly-restricted "All Users" group and the new group you’ve created.

Also, check under Branding settings—there’s an option to hide the User menu, which might be contributing as well.

Hope this helps!
