Because of this: richTextEditor uses <p></p> for "New line"

Not currently We have a feature request for this.

In the meantime, I believe there are teams using the custom component & third party libraries

+1 to this request for a markdown editor. Or if the existing richtext editor could save markdown instead of html that would be great.

We really need this as the rich text editor is not sufficient for composing emails.

WYSIWYG Markdown and HTML Editor

Hey Retool community ! I have seen over the past year or so a number of requests for a WYSIWYG editor. Hopefully an improvement to the native rich text editor component is on the way, but in the mean time I built a quick library that has a Markdown and HTML editor, implementing the amazing CKEditor 5 project. Hii @Tess any updates on this? in the world of AI a lot of text is MD based and not being able to edit it properly in Retool is a huge issue
