Custom Display Names for Agent Tool Actions

We have several apps designed for non-technical users, and the current messages shown in the agent app component may feel overwhelming due to the technical nature of the tool names. Adding a field to provide a more user-friendly label would make the experience clearer and easier to follow.

For example, instead of displaying messages like:

  • “Using tool: updating-fields-on-x-entity”
  • “Using tool: fetching-google-api-information”

We could show simplified, action-oriented text such as:

  • “Updating Information...”
  • “Looking for Details...”

While it’s possible to hide these bubbles with custom CSS, having a built-in option to display less technical, user-focused messages would greatly improve the overall UX.

Additionally, an option to hide the tool results would be helpful. Super helpful for debugging and techy people, not a lot otherwise.
