App seems to have gone blank

Upon editing my organization app, it appears that it went completely blank and lost all release data.

Very sorry to hear this happened! Have you tried looking at the history to revert to a previous edit? If you lose work, you can revert your app to a previous state . Just keep this warning in mind: If you make any changes to the canvas when traveling back in time, that past version will become your present version and it messes with the history, so be careful not to touch anything until you find the version you're looking for

I have looked at the history and the app versions we published are blank. All history seems to be deleted or your database's pk/fk relationships are possibly broken. I attempted to recreate the app yesterday. Now the recreated app is showing a blank app when editing but the end user view is still there. I know your tech team is aware of this issue, but this bug keeps showing up every few months. ReTool version 3.93 was very stable. ReTool version 3.100+, not so much.

I'd like to investigate this further. Can you send an app export? From your App dashboard, click on the three dots to the right of your app name and select Export to JSON . If you're running into errors would you mind sending me a screen recording? Thank you!

Are you seeing any browser console errors? Also, are you using widgetgrid?

I believe we are using widgetgrid.

Did it go blank in the middle of editing? If so, what were you doing when the app went blank?

Yes, it works! Thanks for the help. I did have to build a little to get it all back. Not sure what happened. Can you share anything about what may have happened?

@Stanley_Stancavage We have someone looking into this internally. It help diagnose the isuues they're requesting additional information:

  • When you said the release data was gone, what did that look like?
    • Was the data not showing up in the UI or were you running into errors when trying to revert?
    • Do you have a screenshots?
  • Did it go blank in the middle of editing? If so, what were you doing when the app went blank?

Could you send a recording or join us during office hours on Tuesday or Thursday at 11 am Pacific Time?
