I realize there are similar channels we can post things related to issues or quirks, but I believe a Bugs section would show an openness and transparency about issues.
I suppose the decision to not include a 'bug' category may be because it could potentially reflect badly on your reputation as a stable software solution - I get it. But not mentioning it feels like sweeping it under the rug.
No matter how large you grow as a company, I think there will always be bugs and it's best to provide ways to report them on a community forum like this one.
If you add a bug category then you would have to add tags regarding workflows, queries and resources, mobile, etc etc to be able to cross-report. A think there is a well-thought hierarchy and I don't get the feeling this is being "swept under the carpet".
What would the bug category would provide that the tag doesn't?
Something I do think is missing is a section to up vote feature requests.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.. I guess my point is that if there is something like a Feature Requests as a category, then there should also be a similar category for Bugs. These two are quite similar in nature when it comes to grouping them together (nice to have vs. critical/disruptive).
"Bug" as a tag is perhaps too generic and does not resonate to me in terms of specifying what it relates to, for which I think tags were invented to begin with.
Thanks for sharing your insights on the need for a dedicated way to report bugs! We completely agree that having a clear method to surface these issues, along with providing workarounds and updates on resolutions, is crucial for fostering trust and collaboration within our community.
+1 to @MiguelOrtiz for pointing out that there is current bug tag process that allows you to report on these! However, we recognize that the current process for reporting bugs isn't as efficient as it could be — and that there are limited options for visibility and engagement in this area. We're actively exploring the best approaches to enhance this experience, and you can expect some changes and improvements in 2025.
Your feedback is important to us and will definitely be part of our discussions as we work on these solutions. We'll be sure to keep you updated as we make progress!
