Unexpected high outgoing traffic resulting in excessive billing

Hello,

We deployed a Retool Self Hosted instance to optimize our operations.

We did nothing on Retool for weeks due to other priorities, but we got an AWS billing alert after 2 weeks because one day Retool suddenly started consuming a significant amount of traffic for no apparent reason.

Is this a known issue ? It resulted in a loss of over €600 for us.

Thanks in advance for your help !

Hi @theo_hero
Sorry to hear that happened. Could you please share your domain?

We may also need to see your AWS logs. Feel free to DM them to me.

Hello Abbey, I don't know how to send you DM to send you our domain.
Regarding the logs, unfortunately, our retention delay was too short.

Hi @theo_hero,

Sorry to hear this! :disappointed: This is not necessarily a known issue, so it would be helpful to get more information about the increase in traffic.

On the Retool side, you could look through your Retool audit logs and the container logs for your Retool instance. That might give you information about logins, query errors, etc

If you haven't reached out to AWS about this yet, I'd be curious if they can share any further insights on the traffic as well.
