Input in Custom Component From Another Retool Component?

I wanted to build a simple countdown that updates every second and changes colour based on time remaining.

This is the working code for it

<!DOCTYPE HTML>
<html>
<head>
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<style>
body {
  font-family: sans-serif;
  display: grid;
  height: 60vh;
  place-items: center;
}

.base-timer {
  position: relative;
  width: 60px;
  height: 60px;
}

.base-timer__svg {
  transform: scaleX(-1);
}

.base-timer__circle {
  fill: none;
  stroke: none;
}

.base-timer__path-elapsed {
  stroke-width: 7px;
  stroke: grey;
}

.base-timer__path-remaining {
  stroke-width: 7px;
  stroke-linecap: round;
  transform: rotate(90deg);
  transform-origin: center;
  transition: 1s linear all;
  fill-rule: nonzero;
  stroke: currentColor;
}

.base-timer__path-remaining.green {
  color: rgb(65, 184, 131);
}

.base-timer__path-remaining.orange {
  color: orange;
}

.base-timer__path-remaining.red {
  color: red;
}

.base-timer__label {
  position: absolute;
  width: 60px;
  height: 60px;
  top: 0;
  display: flex;
  align-items: center;
  justify-content: center;
  font-size: 12px;
}
</style>
</head>

Now the variable timePassed is supposed to be coming from a {{TEMPORARY_STATE.value}} instead of being hard coded. I am not being able to achieve that. Pretty sure, this ins't a bug, I am just new to retool and probably doing something wrong.

Hi @dreamerXI, You should be able to pass data from your app to your custom component using the custom component model. For your case, you could enter the {{TEMPORARY_STATE.value}} in the model input. I hope that helps!
