Incorrect landing page redirect after login

  1. Goal: I want users to land on my new app immediately after logging in at XXX.retool.com, rather than being redirected to my old app.

    Issue: Despite having an active new app, the login flow consistently defaults to the legacy app.

    Troubleshooting steps taken:

    • Updated the Workspace Homepage settings within Permission Groups.

    • Updated the External App landing page settings.

    Additional Info: Iā€™m on cloud - business plan

Does anyone has any ideas how to fix this?

Could be permissioning. Some things you could try out:

1. Check the All Users group specifically There's a known behavior where the homepage set on the All Users group takes precedence over settings in custom permission groups. Go to Settings ā†’ Permission Groups ā†’ All Users ā†’ Additional tab, and make sure the Workspace Homepage there is also pointing to your new app and not the old one.

2. Clear your cache bc Retool remembers last visited app per user

3. To ensure users are routed to the Retool home page or a workspace, you need to add an event handler on the login page. you specify / as the path, Retool routes the user to the home page, or if they have a workspace set for their permission group, to their workspace app. If your External App login page has a hardcoded redirect to the old app's path rather than /, it'll bypass the permission group setting entirely.
