How can I retrieve a specific page or component from a previous version of my Retool app without reverting the entire app?

Hi everyone,

I'm working on a Retool app and I noticed that while the version history allows me to revert to a previous version, it doesn’t seem to offer a way to retrieve just one page or component from that version.

I don't want to lose my current changes by reverting the whole app — I just want to copy a specific part (like one page or component) from an older version and bring it into the current version.

Is there a way to:

  • Copy just that part and manually add it to my current app?

Any workarounds or tips would be really helpful!

You are right — at the moment Retool does not allow you to pull out just one page or one component from an older version without reverting the whole app!

Here’s a rather simple workaround:

  1. Revert to the desired version.
  2. Clone the app (new name).
  3. Go back to your current version.
  4. Open the cloned app in another tab and copy what you need.

It's a little bit manual, but this way you won't lose your current changes.
